Great place to grab a bite and drinks if you are looking for a chill place in South Beach. The philly was amazing as were the truffle fries. My boyfriend had the wings which he said were okay. Watch out for the step to the left of the bar. I saw a lot of people almost trip over it.

The Alibi, inside corner of Lost Weekend a dive bar 7/24/15 -- 218 Espanola way Miami Beach Parking is tough - hours of operation stranger 3rd time trying to eat here had to wait until someone was around to take out order - ? Midnight to 5am ? You read menu off hard to read chalk board around the top of kitchen area, & then you order & pay at the bar, then after 10 min they hand you a sandwich in butcher paper from the cooking area. I was looking forward to trying this hyped up award winning Newtimes 2010 location. As I waited for cook ( not to friendly) to show up at midnight to start making the Philly cheese steak, I was further encouraged by 8 other people also waiting , saying they are natives of Philadelphia. My friend who was w/ me has been to Philly eating a tour of Philly Steaks including Gino's & Pats We ordered " Two Provolone with" they did come on the famous Amoroso roll which is special , but overall the sandwich was light on onions, cheese & flavor, kind of meh & I have had better. - To try - truffle fries ? Cost $ 23 for 2 people - value level - ok Rating 6.5 of 10

What the doctor ordered! A poorly-lit dive bar that features a big photo on the wall of Keith Richards at the piano with a pack of Coors and a bottle of whiskey on top. Has a bunch of guys playing pool at 2 am. Big tattooed biker guy taking up the corner of the bar by himself. Reviews were mixed...what could go wrong? Absolutely nothing in my book. Perfect place to duck in late to escape the surrounding glitz and overpriced restaurants. Prices were reasonable...they had some kind of special, or else the domestic beer was just really cheap. Fries were good. Most unexpected of all, the bartender was as nice as can be. Would duck back in here any night I'm in the neighborhood.

Got a cheesesteak with whiz and some tater tots to go while in town for a bachelorette party. Man this cheesesteak was just as good as what you can get in Philly! My boyfriend and I always emphasize how important the roll is and alibi didn't disappoint because they had amoroso rolls, only the best!! Plenty of beers to choose from with a crowd of locals and the perfect divey feel, while my visit was brief definitely enjoyed.

Came here after attending the pool party at the national. This place is more of a hole in a wall type of bar with about 8 beers on tap and about 15-18 items on the menu (along with multiple pool tables).Had the wings, which were good (good buffalo sauce here, the honey garlic not so much). For my meal I went with the cheesesteak hoagie (which was excellent and I see why it is the star item on the menu) and a order of steak fries (good). Overall a simple bar and grill with good food (their chicken philly also looks excellent), good staff, and good priced drinks.

Want a philly cheesy steak with wiz? Awesome place to get it the chef Andrew is from south Philly so it's like having a piece of Philly in a sandwich! So good and very big hero couldn't even finish the whole thing and the prices are more than reasonable. They have 2 dollar jell-O shots all day. Over all it's a very chilled spot you can play some pool, have some drink and have awesome food. The bartenders are very friendly and attentive. They also have fries with different seasoning, my favorites are the garlic and the ranch!

No one picked up the phone at 4:07am. We were looking for a meal after a night out, even if one of us would have to walk to pick it up. But unfortunately even though the hours say til 5am, we were unable to get anyone on the phone to place an order.

been to this spot a couple times.. its a real dive.. and its perfect in every way.. no bolated inflated south beach prices.. pool tables, a freindly bar and a jukebox.. came in, grabbed a piutcher for $7 - it made the walk back to the parking lot a little bit easier after a full day of walkign around the boat show. the cook didnt show up - so there was no food.. but im ok with that.

Simply the best steak sandwiches in the area, and being from Philly....I should know. They fly in Amaroso rolls from Philly which makes the sandwich. Pretty cool dive bar and great staff as well.

This place is awesome I think it used to be called loft weekends. They got pool tables and great food. I ordered a Philly cheese steak with truffle fries it was delicious. The service could have been a little bit better they took quite a bit to get some in a bar. But overall it was satisfying and would definitely come back.

This place is basically the opposite of everything South Beach and I love it. Happy hour was the cheapest thing you will find on South Beach, with $7 domestic pitchers and I think it also includes shots in the evenings. The main reason to come here, surprisingly, is the food though, specifically the cheesesteaks. I generally tend to not really like cheesesteaks outside of Philly, but the cheesesteaks here are damn good. The only thing I don't like is that these cheesesteaks are expensive, and they not only charge you $1 for each topping, but also $1 for each condiment too. WTF charges $1 for mayonnaise? (I have no shame, I put mayo on everything,so what). Had I not been so wasted beyond belief (both times I came here), I would have argued about that since the bartender failed to mention it to me before I ordered it. Oh yeah, I love their "Our house wine is Jagermeister" sign posted behind the bar. Weird though that they did have a bottle of Skinnygirl Vodka tucked away in the back...

I came here on a Sunday at 12:00am and it was open. The music was at the right level, the cigarette smell wasn't overwhelming, there were pool tables, small but diverse drink options, truffle tater tots (heavenly), and a really nice bartender that looks like Thor (sorry Nick). Overall, a wonderful experience that came in handy. We only paid $13.15 for tots and 4 drinks- wot!? What a nice hole in the wall bar!

Yeah, I suppose it was inevitable. Sooner or later the surly dive bar nature was going to rear its head and provide me with an experience that was obnoxious enough to make me never want to return. In this case, it's all about the bartender. I walked in, as I had many times before. I went right up to the bartender so as to place my order and... ignored. Literally, the guy looked at me and looked away. He went to another patron. Mind you, I'm standing by the cash register. It's not that busy. I'm hard to miss. After he's taken that order, I open my mouth to give my order and... he waits on someone else. For real. I'm beginning to get a *little* bit crazy at this point. He's deliberately not taking my order. I take a deep breath and wait again. Next up... not me. He turns from looking at me to walk to the other side of the bar to wait on someone else. At this point, I yell. I yell loud. "Seriously, man?! WTF?? Are you kidding me?" We have a bit of a stand off. He takes my order -- after taking three other before mine, regardless of the fact that I was there before. I should have left. I didn't. That was my mistake. After I order, I notice that I don't have any change. I *always* ask for a receipt. When you eat, write and review and much as I do, it's sort of a necessity. I ask the bartender for my change. "I don't give change." "... It's my money. I want it." "I don't give change. It's a bar policy." "I want my change. It's my policy." I get my change after a stare down and grumbling. To his credit, the chef was attentive. He finishes my order and I leave. But, I can't really leave it alone. I ask the doorguy if what I experienced was par for the course for the bar. He asks if I want to speak to the manager. I do. The manager and I have an in-depth conversation about what happened and how it's unlikely I'd ever come back. Worse, I was a fan, came here regularly and told others to do the same. This would stop. He apologized and claimed that he would handle the situation. I have no idea if he did. I never came back... and neither should you. Unless, that is, if you enjoy despotic bartenders who get off on not serving customers... especially customers who don't resemble the usual clientele of the establishment.

I am staying in South Beach for business and after 5 days, I have grown so tired of looking for a real place and not some tourist trap. The Alibi is the real thing. Locals, cool vibe, decent bar food (based only on chicken tenders and fries) and a happy hour from 8-10 daily. The staff and the patrons want to talk and engage with you and it's just great. I found my Miami Beach jam for the remainder of my trip.

Went back this time everything back to normal. Truffle tater tots a favorite, the Philly cheese steak with cheer wizz, and housemate pickles great.

After reading previous reviews I decided to try this place out. This is definitely for people looking for a place to hang out and drink with friends, and some bar food. It didn't seem extremely busy but my sandwich took an hour and a half, after telling me my ticket was lost my food was paid for. I finally got my food, I ordered a chicken cheese steak and they have me a cheese steak, but it was very good, and free! Fries cost extra and there's not much but the staff is very nice. I don't recommend coming here for dinner but for beer and sandwiches it's perfect.

New favorite spot to watch Heat games. Food is great (wings/cheesesteak is top notch), pizza looks like it could use some work. Lots of TVs, pool tables, air hockey... Chill atmosphere for being on South Beach and the staff is prompt and friendly. My only beef would be turning off the shitty jukebox during game play. I could really stand not too hear Katy Perry during a great Heat match.

...great happy hour deals and yummy food!! Definitively will go back. Staff super friendly too. (Wish was non smoking though)

If South Beach has one thing mastered, it is the late night hangover prevention meal. From the old school "Taco San Loco" that used to be around the corner from Cameo, to the South Beach Diner, le sandwicherie, and Pepper's on Washington, there have been no shortages of places to get an awesome meal at 4AM to soak up all the booze. Well we have a new addition to the list of late night legends. The Alibi could seriously be the best late night party food you can get on the beach. Although I am a big fan of the Philly Cheese, my go-to sandwich now is the Shrimp Po boy. Just when you bite into the extra crunchy piping hot shrimp, you get an extra kick in the mouth with some SPICY creole mayo. Absolutely Delicious! I've also tried the truffle fries. Although they are a bit soggy, their flavor is just incredible. Perfect for soaking up all of the drinks you've been having at Lost Weekend. If you are ever pulled over coming home from a night out on the beach and asked where you were between the hours of 3 and 5 AM, chances are you are not even lying when you say the Alibi.....

Came in on a Saturday night and there was not a lot going on. I guess a band was going to play later in the evening. I like things low key so the vibe worked for me. The bartender was nice and ran next door to get us some of the beers that were on the menu, but not in his cooler. The music was a throw back to high school for me so that was kind of cool. It was a bit on the debbie downer side, but I was fine with it. Overall, worked out to be a nice place to stop in to while checking out Miami.

This place was great! We went by on a Thursday to coincide with their Flip game (everytime you order a round, you bet on a coin toss with the bartender... if you win you get the round for free... FREE... EVERYTIME!). So we basically got all our drinks for the night for under $30 (some of us got really lucky...). The bar's pretty divey, so as long as you're okay with that you should be fine. There's a few pool tables, either $2 a game or $12/hour, as well as some arcade games and free darts upstairs. The bartenders were really nice as well, and I had no complaints about our drinks. The bar had some other deals for the rest of the days of the week (Girls drink free, pool tournament, etc.) so even if it's not a Thursday you can probably drink for pretty cheap. I'd definitely come back here if I'm ever back in Miami Beach for a fun, cheap time at a dive bar.

Absolutely the best sandwiches on the beach! My favorite is the Bacon Chicken Ranch with provolone. With a side of the hand cut fries with truffle oil. Yumm!!! Food ..5 stars. Hours of operation and consistency seems to vary..3 stars. And it's a little over priced. Sandwich and a order of fries is around $16 ..2 stars.

go to this place if you expect cheap, and I dont mean cost. the security of this place is very rude and unprofessional. I saw an employee there throw a girl's drink in the trash can after asking her to get the "fu** off" the chair he was setting on, the security guards didnt seem helpful, the girl stormed out after the same guy called her a bit**. seeing this, i told my friend its time to go, if one girl got treated like that for no obvious reason, then this is a place to avoid, you are basically asking to be insulted in a place like this. the pool tables looked tempting in this place, but I am sure there are more worthy places with better quality of people ..

    (1)
  • Ryan S.

Diver than a dive bar. Expect attitude and poor service, if you even get served. The bartender was extremely rude and skipped informing me of the special Thursday "flip night" until I asked. Steer clear. There are better places.

By now everyone knows this ends up being the place to be after any kind of Yelp event on the beach and I can't argue with that We've had GREAT times here and the food comes in handy when you have been drinking as much as we do but I've come here twice recently on my own and been disappointed and as the old saying goes - fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice I will pee in your pool

I still dream about the "Writers Block" sandwich. I came to Alibi 2 years ago when I came to visit my friend and we randomly stopped there. We ended up coming back the next day just for that sandwich. I keep asking her to get it for me and mail in next day air, because it is that good. Do you by chance ail mail your sandwiches?

Don't get me wrong, I still have love for The Alibi. But it seems as though they're taking advantage of the love this community has for them. We all know that The Alibi's sandwiches are huge (to wit, my original 5-star review). Correction, were huge. Apparently they've decided that a whole shrimp po' boy is too much of a steal for $9, so they've decided to halve that without warning. As in no asterisk by the entry on the menu, no "by the way..." when you order. Nothing. According to the cook manning the place last night, this new direction was mandated by John, the owner. And happened sometime between Tuesday night and Saturday. Not cool guys, not cool. Oh, and a side of tots (or fries) should not cost almost as much as a pitcher of beer. The tots are $6, the beer (during happy hour at least) is $7 and change. Here's hoping The Alibi mans up and rectifies this ridiculousness. It's a dive bar, not Joe's, for crying out loud! For them to charge $9 for a half-sandwich is ludicrous. It doesn't matter if that sandwich contains shrimp* or not. *By the way, my $9 half-sandwich contained all of 6 shrimp. Meaning each shrimp cost $1.50. And they weren't even large shrimp. Even Joe's doesn't charge that much. (See how easy adding that asterisk was?).

Nice dive bar escape from velvet ropey SoBe. The bartenders were super friendly and nice, the jukebox was humming, and the regulars were welcoming. Great prices for a solid beer selection. Didn't eat.

Finally I went to Lost Weekend very hungry the other night during the Pub Crawl. So excited because I have been wanting to try the Alibi's food forever after hearing so many great thing's. Hubby and I decided to share a sandwich and the famous truffle oil fries, perfect for soaking up some alcohol. We walked up to the bar area right outside the small kitchen. Marcos and Esther were sitting there waiting on their order. Sweet Marcos offered me his chair so I could sit down. Thank you. Hubby ordered a cheese steak and fries, so we sat to wait on our order. As I was sitting there I saw Michelle W. eating a sandwich called "The Rabbit", woah it is a veggie sandwich and wow did it ever look fabulous. She said it is her favorite sandwich and it looked amazing. Now I can not wait to try it next time. Our order came out, the sandwich was very large cut in half, perfect for sharing. Eating half was just what I needed. From the bread to the quality of meat and cheese, it was delicious. The fries were steak cut fries with truffle oil, a bit greasy and a bit soggy but the taste was great. Most sandwiches are under $10. Yes, I am a fan of their food. This is the best bar food ever. Great flavor, good price, awesome meal especially when you are drinking. I enjoyed my sandwich so much that I would go out of my way just to go hang out and eat there. We all know how much I love "Lost Weekend" and to have the Alibi inside with such awesome food, yes I am hooked. I heart both of you. The chef who does the cooking is very friendly and nice. Be patient he is the only person making orders, worth the wait. Yummy, yummy good!

The best cheese steak in Miami to date, especially late at night with a beer in hand. I haven't ventured to try anything else but I would do so. I have been here several times, and eaten various cheese steaks, they get the proper bread from PA (forget the bakery). I normally opt for provolone not being the biggest whizz fan, but I have had the whizz as well and it's done authentically.

So you're at Lost Weekend having some drinks with friends, playing pool, air hockey, skee ball or watching a game, and you get hungry. No big deal, walk over to the rear corner and you'll find The Alibi where you can order yourself some food! I'd heard great things about some of the sandwiches from The Alibi, including the South Philly Cheese Steak, the Rabbit and the Shrimp Po' Boy. I'd had their fries and their chicken wings before and both were really tasty, especially late at night when you're hungry after a night out. On this night I got the S. Philly Cheese Steak with provolone (they offer it with your choice of swiss, provolone or "Cheese Whiz" (no, I'm not joking). I ordered the sandwich and paid (it was $9 even), walked 3 paces to the bar at Lost Weekend and grabbed a beer, then went back to the window at The Alibi a few moments later to get my sandwich. It was just as incredible as I expected it to be, the bread was nice and soft and fresh, the cheese was melted and gooey and it really hit the spot.

This is where all my stars will go to! I am a FAN! I was extremely hungry and was recommended to taste one of the sandwiches from this place. It is located inside of a bar so I was not too sure of trying it out but I gave in. I decided to order the pork sandwich since it was spicy and I have a thing about spicy food! I have to say it was a delicious sandwich! The chef cooks it right in front of you. He is really cool and down to earth. It was done really quick. I also took a bite of the shrimp po'boy sandwich and it was really good too. I will have to order that one next time. Prices are very reasonable too. This is my kind of place to have some good food after a few drinks! Yum!

So, I have another sandwich crush....the Rabbit (its not rabbit, it's the veggie sandwich). This sandwich is sooo good! Cheese, tomato, avocado, lettuce, vinaigrette... I think there was more but those flavors stood out. Definitely get it on the roll (it's a sweet tasting bread). They were out of carrots this last time I got it and they suggested pickles on it instead....it was so freakin' good with the pickles on it I told them they should consider changing the menu so it always comes with pickles! The pickles are spicy though, so he's afraid of the spice haters....so, if you like the spice, get the pickles!!!! I also really like the shrimp po boy. Yummy shrimp, great sauce and a good chewy roll. What's not to love?

  • Andrew J.

It seems silly to review The Alibi independently from Lost Weekend....is it actually a separate business within a business? I don't know. For me it's just a bar that serves good bar food. Anyway, I stopped by Lost Weekend last night during happy hour (until 9 pm!) had a few $3 Yuenglings at the bar and an amazing cheesesteak sandwich for $8.95(courtesy of The Alibi). Solid, no nonsense food and drink at fair prices under the same roof...what a concept!

  • Nicole A.

We had The Alibi cater our engagement party and it was fantastic! Everyone raved about the food. Burgers were so delicious! Every time I eat here the shrimp po boy tastes better than the last time. The tater tots are my favorite (add garlic salt. you're welcome).

A hole in the wall bar that surprises at every turn!! We were referred to this place because of a reputation for a good happy hour. Walking up I was a bit skeptical, walking in I fell in love. An entire chalk board full of craft IPA's was shining downing me as if sent from the heavens. Chatting with the bartender we discovered that not only does this place know it's beer, it knows it food. A menu of house made items that you wouldn't usually find at a hole in the wall bar. We asked the bartender (who was awesome!!) what we should eat and he suggested the authentic Philly cheesesteak.. After letting him know we had already had one today somewhere else his response was "oh I wish you hadn't done that." that was enough for us to assure him we'd be back to try it later in the week. We visited this place twice, which also goes by the name Lost Weekend. Had a margharita pizza, shrimp poboy, Alibi burger, Philly cheesesteak and hand cut fries and all of it was amazing!! If your out looking for a fun night full of surprises check this place out, you won't be disappointed!!

The Alibi is to Miami Beach as Bouganvilla's is to South Miami. Atleast that's how I think of it (until Bougie's is no more). But anyway, going back twice changed my mind about some things. Even though I still love it here. The staff, WAY nicer than I first thought. They came out to chat, brought food to our tables, were quick at the bar. I don't know why I thought differently last time, maybe because it is much more relaxed on a week night. The food, I'm not completely sure why but I didn't devour my shrimp po-boy as much as the last time and it had me dreaming of other po boys from my past. Don't get me wrong, it was yummy and I ate it all but not the bestest of the best. The crawfish was beyond amazing, but not a regular menu item. And the strawberry shortcake (see Cupcakes by Kristie here yelp.com/biz/cupcakes-by… ) well that was the highlight of it all. I like that The Alibi is nothing at all like you'd expect a bar on the beach to be like. It's tucked away in a corner and so low-key, totally unlike Miami Beach, that it'll definitely keep me coming back.

It's a safe bet that in the past month you've been out partying into the wee hours. I'd also wager you've wanted to grab a late night meal. Yes, there are the usual suspects, the much-loved staples La Sandwicherie and La Moon but for me after a night of indulging in guilty pleasures I head to The Alibi. Yes, it's on South Beach so parking will be impossible. Yes, it's hidden inside Lost Weekend so the music will be too loud and there will be too much smoke. You'll have to squint in the dark to make out the menu, you'll have to look around for a bar stool or a table, you'll have to order drinks separately at the bar. Nonetheless, this is my favorite place to head for an end of the night meal and sometimes I wish they were open 24 hrs. Even more regularly though I wish they opened a second outpost on the Miami side of the causeways. I've brought many a friend here and no one has ever complained. Most have gone on to thank me for introducing them to the brilliance that is this tiny restaurant hidden inside a South Beach dive. The menu is comforting, the food is made on the spot and in front of you. This place under-promises with a simple menu and over-delivers with well-seasoned, tasty food. After many visits and totally due to be teased I've managed to go outside my comfort zone and order a variety of their dishes. I'd still stick with the po boy, cheese steak (traditional or chicken), and the burger. My friends swear by the Southern Star pulled pork sandwich which only proves that it's close to impossible to go wrong with this menu. Next time you're pulling a raging all-nighter, participating in a cliche bachelor or bachelorette party (please ladies no more tiaras), or simply out way past your usual bedtime end your night on a comforting note at The Alibi.

So after much hype from people I love, I FINALLY made it to The Alibi this past week.... and boy was I glad I was able to savor it after hearing so much about it. The Alibi is host to perhaps the world's greatest veggie sandwich- The Rabbit. I have found myself wanting to eat one everyday this week after having tried it. If I tried to recreate it, I'm sure it wouldn't taste nearly as good...But maybe I'll try. I proceeded to defeat the purpose of having such a healthy sandwich by ordering the Truffle Garlic Fries. They are now officially my favorite fries in all the planet. Crispy, and filled with more flavor than you can imagine, these fries will go quickly if you order them. The portions are fairly large so they're perfect for sharing amongst friends. To top off my late night meal, I had one of Kristie's cupcakes- chocolate chip was the flavor of the day. I was warned that they were pretty rich, and while that was entirely true it didn't keep me from eating practically the whole thing. So moist and delicious! Eat upstairs for a more intimate feel- otherwise you'll be surrounded by pool sharks. One more thing I forgot to mention- the guy in the kitchen working all the edible magic is super hot.

I tried to get inside but the bouncer didn't let me in cause my ID was from the state of New York and he didn't know that they had a new ID, he just told me to go out because my id was a new edition from another state, so rude and not polite, if it is at the entrance I can imagine how is the service inside, btw I'm 30 years old....

First time this weekend with friends from out of town: Strong drinks on the Beach that cost less then 10 dollars. Best french fries of my life. That is really what this review if for. These fries were so crispy and peppery, I can't stop thinking about them. I never want another fry except if it comes from their scary little shop of horrors, I mean kitchen. Music could have been a little better and louder to liven up the bar. Jameson girls were there and giving out free drinks, t-shirts and headphones. I am sure they will now email me 5x a week.

I came here on Wed. for ladies night already half in the bag. They handed me 6, count them SIX tickets for free drinks. Holy moly that is generous and in my case unnecessary :-p But appreciated nonetheless. It wasn't super crowded that I noticed but did get pretty busy. Also their cheesesteak is amazing. I had a bite of a friend's sandwich and they are definitely worth going to Alibi just for this item. I will for sure be back.

I don't understand the good reviews?!?! This place is inside a dive bar. I can only assume people eat this food when they are drunk at the bar. I thought the shrimp po boy and cheese steak were awful. They delivered the food

Crawfish boil wit the Who Dat Saints Nation, and $7 beer pitchers, what more can you ask for..?? So, I checked this place out this place Super Bowl wknd. I doubt I would have found out about this place if it wouldn't have been for the Crawfish boil, but this spot would definitely make a good sports event get-together.. Alot of plasma tv's, pool table, beer.. :-) The crawfish were talk to the hand, because the mouth is busy eating good..! hahaha

I am so happy about the fact that this place is now open at noon for food service. I have had this on my list for quite a while, and this Sunday, friends ordered the Philly Cheese Steak. This is the first time I have tasted a version of this classic that is so close to the original in Miami. The bread was perfect, the meat, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The fries are hand cut, and stay crispy on the outside while steaming hot in the center. Well done! Can't wait to go back and try other menu items.

Here's the deal happy meal, this place rocks my world. Yes it's a pain in the ass to find parking in pretentious SOBE, and yeah you might not find seating in between Lost Weekend but this place is worth the headache. Just a bite of the shrimp po' boy and you forget all the BS. I've been to The Alibi more times than I can count and truly I enjoy it every time. Everyone is friendly and the food is prepared and cooked in front of you. As much as I always want to try new things on the menu, I always end up eating the shrimp po' boy...which by the way, hands down the best shrimp po' boy in Miami. Some of my other favs include the cheese steak (both chicken and steak), the rabbit, the chicken cheese and the oh so famous french fries. The garlic salt fries are a bit too salty for my liking but I definitely recommend the truffled fries. They're to die for! Best part about the Alibi? it's opened till 5 AM, hell to the yes!

This is what I'm talking about... The Alibi inside of Lost Weekend is by far my newest favorite sub/sandwich place in Miami. Last night I had the Chicken Cheese Steak sub and it was the best I have ever had. EVER!!! People never seem to get it right, but The Alibi sure did... The cook is freaking amazing such a nice guy with such a great personality, he is always smiling and it seems he's happy to be there. That makes me happy to be there lol... They also have the most amazing truffle French fries. I definitely see why the New Times voted this place as the best for late night dining, great food and it's open until 5am. This place rocks...

Since I don't eat any sandwich meats, vegetarian sandwiches can get really boring. Which is why I was super excited to read the rave reviews of AC and Michelle W. about the Rabbit. Finally making it to Lost Weekend over Fourth of July, I had to try the legendary sandwich, and it was worth the trip. Flavorful and delicious! One downside is that it's on toasted wheat bread, which I don't really like, I'm a roll kinda girl. Michelle W. actually mentioned that it was better on a roll, so I'll be trying it that way next time. And the french fries?! Good God. Some of my all time favorites. Hand cut potato goodness. I could undoubtedly eat several servings, especially after a few beers. All in all, love me some Alibi. Can't wait to indulge on some more good eats and tasty brews in this fabulous establishment!

Their cheesesteak is one of the best in Miami, whiz, provilone, whatever you want. The bread seemed a lot better my last visit so I am giving it four stars. This grill is inside the bar Lost Weekend, if there aren't cute girls in the crowd there is sure to be one or two behind the bar pouring some very good beers, not a bad scene to pig out in on a Wednesday evening.

Any place that tastes so good I drive out of my way for it deserves a five star rating! I've only been to The Alibi a few times but each time has left an impression. First crawfish, then a po boy and some truffle fries and lastly a philly cheese steak. Couple this great food with the super friendly cooks that make the stuff and you've got an awesome food staple in the middle of Lost Weekend's dive bar heaven! It's such a comfort to know I can count on the yummy comforts of The Alibi when I find myself hungry during the wee hours of the night!

Now THAT'S a sandwich. Not knowing that The Alibi was inside of Lost Weekend, it was a bit of a surprise expecting to be entering a restaurant but getting ID'ed at the door and entering what turned out to be a pretty damn cool bar. My friends all ordered Po Boys and seemed to really enjoyed them. I ordered the Southern Star which includes pulled pork, vinegar and hot sauce on a bun. This thing was so huge it fell apart two bites in. This totally worked out though, as I was able to dip in the remaining pieces into their amazingly delicious spicy mayo. Unfortunately, they didn't have any forks or knives to make this process easier. Big ass sandwiches + little girl hands = pleaseee get some cutlery! :) Ordered some Truffle fries on the side which were also fantastic. I can't imagine coming here and being able to resist trying one of their many fry options.

Being a newbie to the delicacy of boiled crayfish, I entered this experience with an open mind. I had priory heard that crawdaddys were just like small lobster, being a big fan of lobster this appealed to me. The atmosphere in south beach on this day was filled with enthusiasm and saint pride, this added to the novelty of the meal. To make a long story short, i met a bunch of yelpers and i am glad i did because my brother and i also celebrated the superbowl with them the next day. People - 4 stars (Everybody loves fun drunks) Location - 3 stars (parking sucks but we got lucky) Music - 2 stars (The jukebox DOES NOT have the super search function. Beer - 4 stars (Decent selection at reasonable prices) Food - 5 stars (The original Classic Philly is mmmmm mmm mmaaazing. Best Philly Cheese steak i have ever had. Also the crawdads have a spiciness to them i think everyone can enjoy. :) All and all i do look forward to going back and it's a good south beach spot in my opinion.

I was introduced to this awesome hidden gem in Sobe by Maria and Joselito the other night. After busting some serious groves to Jahfe at Transit and spending a good hour looking for my car in the Mary Village parking lot (grrr), I was famished for the munchies. Now usually, I would've never thought about going for a fix run so far away, but noting the reviews, and since I wasn't tired, I decided to venture over and damn it I'm so glad I did but why does it have to be so far?!! You've read all about it and my experience was very similar to the others except I went with the vegan option and gave the Rabbit a try....and woah woah woah!! See this is what restaurants need more of, original and exciting veggie options. I swear I fell like such a fatty because I gulped it down, and then had some of Maria's fries.....those fries are so good! add some of their Cajun Mayo (what, New Orleans in the house? oh yes you know I'm in) and you've got a party in your mouth. I was also treated to a Jello shot by the chef (more brownie points), he is super down and fun to chat with while you watch him prepare his amazing creations. I'm all about places that offer munchies, add deliciousness to the equation and I'm all up on this biznatch. I can already predict myself venturing over there again to satisfy the cravings that know will hunt me soon.

At the Yelp Dive Bar Dash I was thrilled to see that eating was a integral component of the event. Hey, I'm a lightweight, I need food to go with my drinks. After many recommendations, once in Lost Weekend I immediately headed for the Alibi stand and ordered the Philly Cheese Steak with onions and yellow American cheese. WOWZAS! I could not stop thinking about this sandwich for the rest of the weekend. I am a big fan of Hungry Bear in Kendall and this sub really gave Hungry Bear a run for its money. I didn't think it was possible but Lost Weekend with the addition of Alibi just gave me another reason to think they are the best bar on the Beach. As if the Photo Hunt video game wasn't enough!

Best fries EVER!! I'm not usually a huge fan of fries in general, but the Truffle fries at Alibi are addicting!! If I'm looking to go the healthier route, The Margherita Pizza is perfect, drizzled with balsamic. Yummmmmmy!! The atmosphere is fun and casual and just a great time!

Coming from south jersey and the best Philly cheesesteaks, I can say Alabi has the best cheesesteaks outside of Philly. Great variety of beer. Being a Philly bar definitely is a plus. Beats driving up to Parrot Lounge in Fort Lauderdale, the other Philly bar in the area. An upgrade in the TVs is the only thing missing for the compete sports experience.

For a dive bar, it's really nice. It doesn't smell, it's not smokey, they play great music, they have tvs. But best of all, the food is really good! Awesome pizzas, incredible sandwiches. Best Philly and Po Boy sandwich in Miami! And top of that it doesn't cost the typical SoBe prices! Def will be back.

For sure. I like it. My first place back to the beach was to this place. Carpool counts, right? A small group of us got together here for the crawfish boil. I had never had. Walking into this place, it is alot roomier than what the pictures make it out to be. Bountiful pool tables. A cozy little second floor. And a tiny kitchen. Something about this place makes it aesthetically pleasing. They way they have the tables set up, the little stools overlooking the small kitchen. It's nice. So the crawfish. It was good. Not the best thing i'd ever had, but i'm not a big big fan of fish. The meat you wind up eating is relatively small for the freakish portions you get. It didn't make sense in my head. I was getting the portion of un servicio from a fritanga. I was still hungry afterwards, so I jumped on the opportunity to continue my hot streak of po' boys. The wait was extraordinarily long, but the service didn't seem to be lacking, so something must have been wrong with the order or in the kitchen. No biggie guys, I don't mind. The shrimp were on the small size, but the sammich was hefty with them so, in what they were small, there were many. I really liked it. Not at all bad from the kitchen of a bar. The bread I thought was extra good. Crispy and light. I enjoyed myself that night, at this place. It's at the beach, so I don't know when i'll be back, but it wouldn't be a stretch to say I would go back to this place.

Best. pickles. ever. I know that's an odd opener, but I was truly blown away. Best cheese steak in Miami. Delicious pulled pork - you can never have too much vinegar. Awesome hot sauce. The fact that it's inside Lost Weekend is just the icing. Thanks to John for being such a great host and chef. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu!

Fantastic as always. Great bartenders and the best tater tots in the world...or maybe that's because I always have a drink or two before eating them? Ah well, great place.

I've been here twice so far: Once because of the amazing Yelp reviews and the other was when I was on a mission to find King Cake. The first time I went I tried the shrimp po boy and it was INSANELY salty! I felt like there was a salt lick hidden in my sandwich; it was for sure the batter used on the shrimp. I also tasted the Philly Cheesesteak which was on the other end of the spectrum, it was a little bland. I hear Publix makes are really good cheesesteak incase anyone is interested. The second time I went back was on Mardi Gras to buy some King Cake because they ordered it all the way from New Orleans. It was delicious and fairly priced per piece. The atmosphere of the bar seems really laid back and chill. I would recommend it for a bar, but I'm sad to say I can't recommend the food. The people there are superrr nice, just thought I'd throw that in there too.

while in south beach, late night hungers called for: - truffle fries: diggin their hand cut fries. could've been better seasoned though. - cheese steak sandwhich: cheesy and meaty. pretty good for a late night munch! - pork sandwhich: vinergar flavored pork. tasty!

Ah The Alibi... how I love thee... now once of the only places I know of to get a shrimp po-boy... getting trashed at lost weekend? have an excuse to be there and get some food at The Alibi... I have had said shrimp po-boy here (both while inebriated and sober) and its always been really good... tried their fries and pizza that others ordered and they were also pretty good... and all of this from a little thing attached to a bar? go figure...

nice! came here really late at night for the pulled pork sandwich. i know someone who swears by it so i just had to try it. generous amounts of well seasoned pulled pork. nice and spicy, bit salty but very good nevertheless. i also got to try a the burger. good friggin burger and i think thats going to be my next choice. or the rabbit. their vegetarian sandwich. fresh ingredients, friendly and attentive service. the alibi is even located inside one of my favorite south beach bars. lost weekend. cannot go wrong with that!

Thank you Alibi for your delicious cheese steaks and truffle dust french fries. One minor suggestion, please make the fries crispier upon request, then it would be perfect. (5 Stars)

Yes I was persuaded by the amazing reviews. We found this place and the bartender very friendly offered us their best two sandwiches: Phillie Cheesesteak and a shrimp Po Boy. The Cheesesteak sandwich was very generous and delicious. The shrimp Po Boy was ok it was edible, there were 10 fried shrimp 51/60 (not too small) mayo, and shredded lettuce on a small hoagie. I was comparing it to the The Fish house in Kendall a much superior Po Boy. We will go back to the Alibi and try their chicken wings.

The only real Philadelphia cheesesteak in South Beach. As anyone from the northeast will tell you that pizza, bagels or any sandwich rolls are terrible in Miami because the water doesn't let you recreate the baking, The Alibi has their rolls flown in by FedEx everyday from the Amoroso Bakery in Philadelphia.

The Alibi is such a memorable experience for me. The place is awesome. The interior designs were so cozy and well furnished. I like the ambience in this place. The service was also good. The food is the best! I love the grilled cheese! Every bite was a very unique taste that tickles my taste buds. I will definitely come back to The Alibi to try other meals from their menu!

Great job, John! I've been looking for an authentic cheesesteak during my time in Miami and now I've finally found one. Alibi's cheesesteak is definitely the best one on the beach. The hot sauce is one of the best I've ever had and the homemade pickles are awesome too!

We set out to try out the Alibi one night and the bar was cool, but the food wasn't as good as the reviews led on. We ordered the po boys and fries they were good but we have had a lot better. Everything was also too salty. Maybe to get you to buy more drinks. Pretty good for bar food I guess.

I wrote a review on the night of the grand soft opening and its over at the lost weekend page. i went back the other night and not much has changed (and thats a GOOD thing). I went with the shrimp po boy again - i had been craving it since the other night. it was as good as i remembered. i also went with the truffle fries (again) and they were also just as good as i remembered. This time i was also able ot try some pizza. What do they say about pizza - pizza is like sex - when its good its very good and when its bad its still pretty good. Well this was good pizza. I won't put it in with andiamo just yet but it i head and shoulders above rusitca which is right around the corner. if you want pizza take a trip around the corner and hit up this place. they dont do slices though so bring a friend or 2. i was also treated to some jello shots on this evening. i cant say they were delicious - thats what happens when you make them with 151 - but they did the job. the grape shots without the 151 were good however. all in all i think this place definitely has what it takes to satisfy the yen for comfort food that hits all of us. i wish i lived on the beach still so i could enjoy the shrimp po boys more often.
